Environnement S.A will soon deliver a complete air quality monitoring network to country capital Ulan Bator. Due to constant increase in motorized transportation (+350% in 10 years) and coal consumption (4 million tons per year for all of the power plants), air quality has become a major public health stake for the city, which today centralize 40% of the country's population and 30% of industrial production.
Thanks to this new monitoring network (5 fixed stations plus a mobile laboratory), in compliance with international standards, Ulan Bataar will be able to understand and accurately quantify pollution events.
The system will also be used to inform the public and sensitise citizens to the good practices that helps limiting pollutant emissions, and will constitute a precious help to measure the environmental impact of future industrial projects.
